On behalf of the University and on my own behalf, I have great pleasure in welcoming all researchers to the Sophisticated Analytical Instrumentation Facility (SAIF)/Central Instrumentation Laboratory (CIL)/ University Center for Instrumentation and Micro Electronics (UCIM) of the Panjab University. The Department of Science & Technology is supporting this center by providing liberal funds and it is a central facility with state-of-art sophisticated analytical instruments to cater the needs of faculties and research scholars in and out of the Panjab University.
We are all pleased that department of SAIF/CIL/UCIM is excelling well beyond expectations. Since the department with new instruments and techniques provides wider service to a numerous educational institutions and industries that lack significant instrumentation facilities. Indeed, without any distinction, both internal and external users can be allowed to avail this facility with permission as per guidelines. In addition, UCIM organize short term courses/workshops/hands-on training on the use and application of various instruments for the benefit of research scholars, teachers and personnel from other laboratories, universities and industries.
On our part at the University has also provided funds out of PURSE programme for several Sophisticated Instruments and do our utmost to further improve the facilities and services. Needless to say, in our efforts of achieving academic and research excellences, all users/researchers have to work together wholeheartedly as before. With the support of all researchers, I am sure that this department will be enhanced further to provide a comprehensive assistant that enables researcher to serve poor livings in the country!
