Sophisticated Analytical Instrumentation Facility (SAIF) housed at Panjab University (PU) Chandigarh (estd. 1882, NAAC A++, UGC graded I autonomy) is a premier state-of-the-art facility supported by the Department of Science & Technology (DST), New Delhi. DST has acknowledged SAIF, PU with a maximum number of users all over India. Due to the strategic location of Chandigarh, various states depend on the city for its scientific and academic capabilities.
